Measuring the Challenge by Time, Not Distance

Adventure Races are unique sporting events where the focus is on time, not distances. We've chosen this approach because, in the world of adventure racing, distance alone can be deceiving. Terrain, elevation, and various other factors can drastically alter the experience of covering the same distance. Therefore, we've opted to measure our race stages in time, ensuring a more accurate representation of the adventure that awaits. For instance, instead of saying a hiking stage is 22km, we tell you it will take 1-2 hours, acknowledging the vast difference between 22km on flat terrain and 22km in rugged mountains.

While the specific challenges of each adventure race may vary, we can provide you with some general guidelines for the time and distance expectations based on different race durations:

3-Hour Race:

    Rafting: 8-12km / 1 to 1.5 hours
    Mountain Biking: 15-25km / 1-2 hours
    Hiking: 6-12km / 1-2 hours

6-Hour Race:

    Rafting: 8-12km / 1 to 1.5 hours
    Mountain Biking: 20-35km / 2.5 - 4 hours
    Hiking: 9-15km / 2.5 - 4 hours

12-Hour Race:

    Rafting: 8-12km / 1 to 1.5 hours
    Mountain Biking: 35-50km / 5 - 8 hours
    Hiking: 12-25km / 6-10 hours

48-Hour Race:

    Pack Rafting: 20-35km / 3 to 5 hours
    Mountain Biking: 40-80km / 8-16 hours
    Hiking: 30-50km / 12-20 hours

It's important to note that these distances and times can be spread across multiple stages within a race. While some races may consist of only three stages, others may offer a greater variety, depending on the location and the unique challenges it presents.
