True West Performance Categories
At its core, the True West Adventure Race is about getting out there — embracing the wild, pushing boundaries, and sharing unforgettable experiences with your teammates. Whether you’re navigating rivers, climbing ridgelines, or trekking deep into the bush, this race is about participation, adventure, and the simple joy of being active in the outdoors.
We encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to be part of the action — to live boldly, learn new skills, discover new places, and experience the unique spirit of adventure racing.
That said, we also value and celebrate those who push the limits of endurance, strategy, and teamwork. At the post-race prizegiving, we’ll recognise teams that not only complete their races but rise above, showing grit, determination, and skill.
In true adventure racing tradition, the performance categories are designed to offer a pathway — from first-timers starting out, to seasoned teams tackling the legendary 48-hour course.
To be eligible for prizes, teams must be 4-person and mixed-gender.
The top 3 teams in each category will be acknowledged at the awards.
