REFUND POLICY

• 90% refund - before July 31st 2024

• 60% refund - before October 31st 2024

• 30% refund before November 30th 2024

• No refunds after 30th January 31st 2025
  
  If the event has to be cancelled in February due to weather conditions, or natural disasters, or any other justifiable reason so deemed by the organisers, or authorities, no refunds will be issued.

COVID POLICY

Postponement due to COVID-19
If the event is not able to proceed due to ongoing restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be postponed to a later date, there are no refunds if the entrant cannot make it to the event at the new postponed date. Entrants should take this into consideration when entering. If there are changes due to Covid level restrictions within 5-days prior to the event, preventing the Event from being held, the event will be cancelled and no refunds will be made.

INSURANCE

Insurance is the responsibility of the competitors.

TRUE WEST HAAST 2025 EVENT LIABILITY DISCLAIMER AND WAIVER
PARTICIPANT ACKNOWLEDGMENT, RELEASE, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK
By registering for and participating in the True West Haast 2025 adventure race (the “Event”), I acknowledge, understand, and agree to the following terms:

1. ASSUMPTION OF RISK
I understand that adventure racing involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
Challenging and unpredictable terrain
Variable weather conditions
Physical exertion and fatigue
Remote locations with limited access to medical assistance
Risks associated with navigation, mountain biking, kayaking, and other outdoor activities
I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation in the Event and acknowledge that the organisers cannot guarantee my safety.

2. COMPLIANCE WITH RULES AND LAWS
I acknowledge that:
I have read and understand the Event rules (the “Rules”) and will comply with them.
I will adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and safety requirements relevant to the Event.
The organiser has the right to modify the Rules, refuse entry, or remove participants for safety reasons at their discretion.

3. RELEASE OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law, I release, waive, and discharge True West, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, agents, sponsors, partners, landowners, equipment providers, and any affiliated entities (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability for:
Personal injury, disability, illness, or death
Property loss or damage
Any other claims, losses, or damages arising directly or indirectly from my participation in the Event, regardless of cause (including negligence, except where prohibited by law).

4. MEDICAL FITNESS AND EMERGENCY TREATMENT
I confirm that:
I am physically and medically fit to participate in the Event.
I am responsible for my own health and safety throughout the Event.
I will inform the organisers of any medical condition that may be relevant to my safety.
I consent to receiving emergency medical treatment as deemed necessary by the organisers, with the understanding that emergency assistance may be delayed due to the Event’s remote locations. Any costs incurred will be my responsibility.

5. INDEMNITY
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any claims, damages, costs (including legal fees), or liabilities arising from my participation in the Event.

6. PHOTOGRAPHY AND MEDIA RELEASE
I grant the organisers the right to capture and use photographs, videos, or other media of me during the Event for promotional and marketing purposes without compensation. If I do not wish to be included in media, I will notify the organisers in writing before the Event.

7. ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND AGREEMENT
I confirm that:
I have read and understand this Event Liability Disclaimer and Waiver.
I accept all risks and responsibilities associated with my participation.
By signing below (or entering electronically accepting these terms), I am legally bound by this agreement.
